Arrondissement Montbrison je francouzský arrondissement. Je součástí departementu Loira v regionu Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Jeho hlavním městem a podprefekturou departementu je město Montbrison.

 

Historie

Když byl v roce 1793 vytvořen departement Loira, byl arrondissement Montbrison součástí tohoto původního departementu.

 

Geografie

Okres Montbrison sousedí na severu s okresem Roanne, na východě s departementem Rhône, na jihovýchodě s okresem Saint-Étienne, na jihu s departementem Haute-Loire a na západě s departementem Puy-de-Dôme.

Nachází se v centrální části departementu a je největším arrondissementem s rozlohou 1 959,5 km2 (756,6 km²) a druhým co do počtu obyvatel se 188 635 obyvateli a hustotou 96,3 obyvatel/km².
